"Sağlığım Cepte" which means "My Health in My Pocket" is a comprehensive health app developed by Anadolu Sigorta, which is one of the biggest insurance companies of Turkey. The app is designed to help users manage their health and insurance needs efficiently. It allows users to track their daily step activities, visualize them with functional graphics, and monitor the status of their health insurance provisions.

Challenge

Designing the Sağlığım Cepte app was a long-term project where I played a role in various aspects. My main objective was to create a comprehensive yet user-friendly platform that seamlessly integrated health and insurance functionalities. One of the primary challenges I tackled was ensuring that users could effortlessly track their wellness activities, manage their insurance policies, and access crucial health information—all within a single app. I also focused on making the app accessible and easy to use for a diverse user base with varying levels of tech-savviness.

Results

We approached the project with a user-centric design philosophy, conducting extensive research to understand the needs and pain points of potential users. Our solution involved creating an intuitive interface that prioritized simplicity and efficiency. Key features included an easy-to-navigate dashboard for tracking daily step activities, quick access to policy details, and seamless integration of health records and test results. We also implemented responsive design principles to ensure optimal functionality across various devices. The result was a cutting-edge health management app that not only met but exceeded user expectations, providing a holistic and efficient solution for managing health and insurance needs.

How might we design an intuitive app that integrates wellness tracking, insurance management, and health information access for diverse users?

Process

For the Sağlığım Cepte project, I played a role in both the design and development phases, working closely with the clients as well. The project was primarily app-based, but we also designed and developed the corresponding website. My responsibilities included:


Design Collaboration: I worked closely with our developers and clients to ensure that the app's user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) were intuitive and aligned with our research findings. This involved creating wireframes, prototypes, and final design layouts for both the app and website.


Frontend Development: Our developers handled the frontend design, translating the visual designs into functional, responsive interfaces. I collaborated with them throughout this process to maintain design consistency and address any UI/UX challenges that arose.


Client Coordination: I actively participated in agile meetings with the clients every week, where we discussed their needs, priorities, and feedback. These insights were crucial in guiding our design and development decisions. Additionally, we used Jira for managing tasks, ensuring transparency and efficiency in project management.


Throughout the project, I worked to ensure seamless integration between design and development, while also maintaining open and effective communication with the clients. My goal was to deliver a product that aligned with their expectations and requirements, focusing on collaboration and meeting their needs.

A Challenging Flow That I've Taken Part In

Medication Reminder Flow


During the development of Sağlığım Cepte, I contributed to several key workflows. One particularly challenging feature was the medicine reminder system.


Users often struggle with medication adherence, so me and my teammate's focus was on designing a solution that would make it easy and motivating for users to manage their medication schedules effectively. This involved applying user experience principles to create an intuitive and engaging reminder feature, ensuring it seamlessly integrated into the app's interface. Understanding user behavior was crucial in designing a system that users would find effortless to use, thereby improving their overall experience with the app.
